NEXT

CO SERVE offers the NEXT program for seasoned missionary staff who feel called to long-term cross-cultural ministry work with Campus Outreach.

Following God’s Direction

At the end of their first term of service, many short-term missionary staff desire to return to the field and continue ministering to lost students. But moving across borders and cultures involves twists and turns, and making a longer-term commitment can be overwhelming. Many young leaders don’t know where to begin.

Reaching the Nations

Through the NEXT program, CO SERVE guides these staff through becoming long-term CO missionaries. We walk with them every step of the way, provide guidance and care while on the field, and help them serve as long as God calls them.

What is the Impact of the NEXT Program?

  • Leader Development

When Campus Outreach staff participate in the NEXT program, they are assigned a ministry area, receive developmental feedback, and receive ongoing training. This accelerates their future leadership potential wherever God calls them.

  • Strengthened Campus Ministry

CO NEXT staff make a meaningful contribution to the local Campus Outreach ministry location they are part of. They provide additional time, energy, and skills to enhance and ensure each ministry location’s long-term sustainability and fruitfulness.

  • Local Fruit

Because they have previous ministry experience, CO NEXT staff lead in evangelism and discipleship with university students. This frequently results in more students hearing the gospel and encountering Jesus for the first time.

  • Healthier Churches

As students begin their faith journey, CO NEXT staff disciple them to walk with Jesus for a lifetime. Part of this includes a healthy view of their role in the local church. Students who encounter Jesus through university outreach often go on to serve as lay and full-time leaders in churches.

CO NEXT has further shown me how God is moving globally and equipped me to use my unique wirings to creatively participate in His grand purpose—redeeming people from all tribes, tongues, and nations to Himself.

Maribeth Bailey

London, England

Living in a place where the nations are all around me has drastically grown my desire for all people to meet Jesus. I am more burdened and yet also more hopeful about the nations being reached for Christ because I am engaging with people from all over the world every day in my city.

CO NEXT has been a great opportunity for my own development. I have learned more about my design, my giftings, and my contribution to God’s kingdom as I have stepped into serving staff and students cross-culturally.
