Lusaka, Zambia
Campus Outreach Lusaka was launched in 2018 and serves in partnership with Kabwata Baptist Church to reach students on the campuses of University of Zambia and Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies. This ministry exists to build laborers in a country where the overwhelming majority of Zambians consider themselves to be Christian by religion, but few are faithful followers of Jesus. The team's prayer is that students would surrender to Christ, impacting their classmates, families, coworkers and whomever else the Lord allows in their spheres of influence for Gospel transformation.
Our Team
Chase Denton
Chase Denton did not grow up in a Christian household, but through Campus Outreach became a Christian during his freshman year of college. He recently served on the LEAD team that went to Lusaka, Zambia, and is now looking to join the long-term team in Zambia. He will be returning to the team as the Campus Director of the University of Zambia and looking forward to getting married in the near future. He is excited to continue to disciple Zambian students with whom he built friendships during his initial two-year LEAD commitment. He is also looking forward to seeing what God has for him in his new role and commitment to Zambia.
Alicia Hubbard
Alicia is an Illinois native who came to know the Lord in the fall of 2013. She then went to Murray State University, where she was connected with the local church and Campus Outreach. During her time at MSU, she joined a discipleship group and learned how to share her faith with others. Alicia began to ask the Lord, like Isaiah, with an open hand, to send her wherever He would want her, and she would go. The Lord sent her to Lusaka, Zambia for two years and grew her love for and dependency on Him. Alicia is convinced that the students on the college campuses in Zambia will reach the lost world through the local church, while also convinced that she is to use her gifts to serve the team that serves the college campuses. Alicia is thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord in this capacity. Her favorite hymn is “ The Old Rugged Cross,” because as she clings to this cross in this life, one day, she will exchange it for a crown.
Shalom Ndhlovu
My name is Shalom Thembekile Ndhlovu from Lusaka, Zambia. I was born in Botswana and raised there for 16 years. I came to know the Lord early in 2012, and later that year, my family settled back in Zambia. I studied at the University of Zambia, and it is there that I learned of Kabwata Baptist Church through friends who were members there. I joined KBC membership in 2019 and got to experience Campus Outreach through Tim and Niai Byrd, the team, and the church members that volunteered. From then, God placed in my heart the desire to give my life away so that others may know Christ and grow in their faith alongside other believers. This led me to join CO Lusaka, and through it, I’ve experienced more of the body of Christ and the love God calls us to. #Jesus&Relationships
