Cape Town, South Africa

Campus Outreach Cape Town was launched in 2022 in partnership with The Union Chapel to reach students in Cape Town. They exist to build laborers in South Africa, trusting God to send workers across Africa from the university campus. The team's prayer is that God would equip them to reach and equip South African leaders so that one day, South Africans will lead the campus ministry.

Maddie Holladay

Maddie was born and raised in Southeast Missouri by Christian parents. Despite growing up in the church, she never really had a faith that was personal until God, in His perfect timing, captured her heart during her freshman year of college at the University of Missouri. Maddie quickly saw God growing her heart for the nations throughout her time in college, and she knew she wanted to be a part of God’s mission to reach the lost world after college. She spent two years in Johannesburg, South Africa engaging students with the gospel, and now she’s excited to continue that work in Cape Town, South Africa as she helps with the launch of a new Campus Outreach ministry as a LEAD Supervisor.

Connor Holladay

Connor grew up going to church but did not have a personal relationship with Christ until he went to a Bible study with some guys involved with CO. He graduated from UT Dallas and went into the workforce in Colorado but kept feeling God call him to multiply his life through discipleship. Through an answered prayer, God provided him the opportunity to serve in Pretoria, South Africa for two years. This time confirmed and strengthened his desire to continue giving his life to sharing the Gospel and discipling the next generation of laborers wherever the Lord would have him. Now he has the opportunity to continue that work by helping launch a new Campus Outreach ministry in Cape Town, South Africa, where he’ll get to serve as a LEAD Supervisor. Please prayerfully consider joining him in raising up the next generation of African leaders!

Lindsay Kent

Lindsay grew up in a Christian home but only began a personal relationship with Jesus in 2020 at the University of Missouri through Student Mobilization. In college, she learned to share the gospel and make disciples, and God grew her vision for his glory in the world. In 2023, she moved to Cape Town, South Africa, joining a team focused on reaching college students with the gospel. Over two years, she witnessed God opening doors on campus, softening students’ hearts, and revealing her gifts. God began a work in her, on campus, and across Cape Town. She is eager to continue trusting God to do big things as she serves the staff and students in Cape Town.

Lillian Keranen

Lillian became a Christian in 2023 through the Campus Outreach ministry at Bellarmine University. God revealed that her identity was placed in the wrong things, and that life only comes through the identity found in Jesus. During her time at Bellarmine, God worked in her heart to understand what a personal relationship with Jesus looked like and its importance. As God provided opportunities for her to grow deeper in her faith, He also started to cultivate a desire to serve overseas. Through God’s provision and sovereignty, He has called Lilly to Cape Town, South Africa, where she will be able to serve overseas and see the work of the Great Commission being fulfilled. Lillian is excited for the next season of life God has called her into and cannot wait to see all that He has planned through the ministry in Cape Town, South Africa.

Paige Livingston

Paige grew up near a small town in Nebraska and attended college at Kansas State University, where she studied Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology. Throughout her time in college, Paige became involved in a campus ministry and learned what it looked like to have a genuine relationship with God. During her sophomore year of college, she saw her need for a Lord and Savior in her life and decided to give her life to Jesus. Over the next few years, Paige learned what it meant to be not only a disciple of Jesus but also to make disciples of Jesus. During that time, God was also growing her vision for the world and cultivating in her a desire for all people to know Him. Now, she is eager to be a part of how God is reaching the world through the lives of South Africans!

Dale May

Dale is from Cape Town, South Africa. His family began attending church regularly when he was in high school. Being frequently exposed to the gospel through their church, he became a Christian. Over the years, his involvement in youth ministry and leading workplace Bible studies significantly shaped his relationship with the Lord, which drove his decision to study theology formally. After completing his undergraduate degree, Dale pursued a master’s in biblical studies at George Whitefield College. He was drawn to that college by its academic rigour and emphasis on serving the church. Dale is amazed by God’s grace and power in the gospel to transform all of life and is eager to share that gospel with university students and disciple them as they follow the Lord.

Emma grew up hearing the name of God and regularly attended church, but didn’t come to have a personal relationship with Jesus until her freshman year of high school. During her time at Berry College, with the impact of Campus Outreach and the local church, she experienced deep spiritual growth and developed a clearer understanding of the Great Commission — God’s heart for the lost world. In the summer of 2023, Emma served with Campus Outreach in Johannesburg, South Africa, where the Lord stirred her heart to step into college ministry after graduating. Emma is humbled and excited to serve in Cape Town, South Africa, as God continues to draw people from every tribe, tongue, and nation to Himself.

Upon graduating, God gave him a vision for making disciples on the college campus overseas. Brett is eager to return to South Africa and labor on the college campus in Cape Town.

Hannah Wilson

From a young age, Hannah’s heart was captured by the Gospel with a desire to share Jesus with others. Sin tainted Hannah’s view of the cross by alluring her to believe that she could be the perfect daughter or friend by overemphasizing rules and diminishing her understanding of grace. While attending GCSU, the Lord used hardship within her family to deepen her dependence on the Word and to increase her desire to disciple others. She got connected with Athletes in Action at Michigan State and faithfully discipled women and co-led the team until late 2022. In early 2023, following a desire that had marked her heart for years, she moved to Cape Town to continue ministering to university athletes. As her two-year commitment came to an end in South Africa, she prayed about next steps in serving. She connected with the Campus Outreach team in Cape Town and found the mission and the team a good fit. Though she’s sad to leave ministry at Stellenbosch and the University of the Western Cape, she’s thrilled for what’s ahead as she joins CO at the University of Cape Town and continues to build laborers on the campus for the lost world.
