Samford students in 1987 and again as graduates ministering in Australia, 1998.
In 1987
Ten students who had recently come to know Christ met together at Troy State University. They met to grow in their relationship with the Lord and to pray for the world. God changed their lives. They began dreaming of the gospel spreading beyond their campus. One of the guys shared about a university he drove past on his way back to Troy from his home in Florida. It was a school with no Campus Outreach ministry and students who needed Jesus. The men continued to pray. God changed them, and four transferred to Valdosta State to share God’s love with students there.
At the same time, some guys met at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Several had recently come to know Christ. They were meeting together to grow in their relationship with the Lord and pray for the world. As they prayed, God changed their lives. They each entered ministry, and 10 years later, these Samford graduates moved their families “down under” to share God’s love with the students there.

Right now, in 2024
Staff from CO Columbia are gathering to pray for the world. Vaughn Volius, Area Director, challenged each staff member in his region to choose one of the red dots on the Campus Outreach Expansion Map and pray for that country during their monthly Day of Prayer: Ken chose to pray for India; Aaron chose to pray for Kenya. Nine staff members then came together to pray that the gospel would go out to the world. When people look back at this time in history, how will these prayers have changed lives? Where will these men have gone? What countries will be reached?
Gather a group and join us on April 2, 2024, for the Worldwide Day of Prayer. Lives will be forever changed. The world and you will never be the same.
