Sustainable indigenous ministry is happening worldwide

CO’s long-term vision for SLIM (sustainable, labor-producing, indigenous multiplying) ministries is becoming a reality in multiple regions around the world.

CO Philippines welcomed its first Filipino staff member to the long-term team and three Filipino interns this year.

“We want sustainability so that the work can continue indefinitely. We want leaders and laborers to be raised up so that they will reach others with the gospel,” said CO LEAD Team Leader Steve Discher.

As God continues to grow CO’s Filipino ministry, Steve said reaching this point has taken years of faithful prayer and work on campus.

“Laborers aren’t formed overnight,” he shared. “It has been a process, and God has been at work to bring students to faith and also to increase their vision to share Christ with others.”
