Monterrey, Mexico

Campus Outreach Monterrey was launched in 2021 and serves in partnership with San Pedro Church and a church plant called Iglesia Núcleo to reach students at Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey. They exist to build laborers in a city where many influential leaders and students claim a religious identity but have never truly encountered the gospel of grace. The team's prayer is that God would raise and transform leaders who, rooted in a gospel-centered worldview, will bring spiritual renewal to Monterrey, Mexico, and ultimately to the ends of the earth.
Currently, CO has started ministry at Tecnologico de Monterrey (Monterrey Tech), widely considered the top university in all of Mexico. We are trusting God for LEAD Staff to partner with CO Staff on the ground, to help pioneer ministry at Tec, and to explore other campuses in the city. Monterrey presents an opportunity to lay the foundation for a movement of the Gospel among Mexican college students for generations to come!

Rodrigo Puebla

Rodrigo became a Christian while attending college in Monterrey, Mexico, where he grew up. As he began following Christ and witnessing how the gospel transformed every aspect of his life, God placed a desire in his heart to reach college students. This calling led him to pursue an M.Div. at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. During this time, he became involved with Campus Outreach and embraced its vision of sharing the gospel with students. After completing his studies, Rodrigo returned to Monterrey and began laying the groundwork for ministry at Tec de Monterrey. In 2021, after years of planting and sowing seeds, an official Campus Outreach team was launched. Rodrigo has been leading this movement ever since, and it has grown significantly. Many students have come to faith, are being discipled, and are now discipling others—creating a multiplying movement.

Additionally, Rodrigo and his ministry played a key role in planting a new church near the campus (Iglesia Nucleo). Today, the campus movement and the church movement are thriving together, reinforcing each other’s mission. Rodrigo’s prayer is to see God’s kingdom expand among college students in Mexico, shaping a new generation of leaders for both the church and the broader culture.

Alex grew up in a small town in Indiana where he had always believed in God and had heard of the Gospel, but he never truly understood the significance of words like sin, grace, or good news. Throughout his time in college, many faithful people poured their lives into Alex’s, and he began to realize what the Gospel was and meant for his life. By the end of his time in college, God had grown Alex’s heart for reaching people outside of the United States. Alex has been working in Monterrey, Mexico for the past 2 years, getting to be a part of God working in him and through him. Alex has renewed his commitment to stay in Mexico and is excited to continue to witness God work throughout the Mexican culture.

I (Ben) became a follower of Christ in high school, and later through Campus Outreach at UT Dallas, God showed me that my faith is not about me but rather about God and His glory. I (Paloma) grew up in a godly Christian home, and in my late teens and early adulthood, my faith became deeply personal. We met in Monterrey, Mexico and eventually got married after serving on the same church-planting team.
God has continued to deepen our heart for the lost and our conviction to obey the Great Commission as we seek to raise laborers who will proclaim the gospel where Christ is not known. We currently serve in Monterrey: Ben on the campus of Tecnológico de Monterrey, investing in students and equipping them to carry the gospel wherever God sends them, and Paloma in member care, women’s discipleship, and ministry among young professionals at the local church plant. Our prayer is to see both people and cities so transformed by the good news that they cannot help but carry it to the places in the world where Christ is not yet known.

Spencer was born in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, but moved to Salina, Kansas when he was 18 months old. He grew up in a Christian home, but it wasn’t until attending the University of Kansas that he realized what it meant to actually have a relationship with Christ. Through being discipled and hearing God’s heart for the nations at Student Mobilization’s summer project, Kaleo, he began to catch a vision for God’s purpose for his life. During his senior year, he realized that God had a promise and a plan to reach people from every nation, tribe, language, and people and that God wanted to use him for this purpose, even if it meant putting his degree in chemistry aside indefinitely. He is excited not only to bring the gospel to the college campus in Monterrey, but he is also praying for God to send students impacted by him to the ends of the Earth.

Venus began her faith journey at the University of Kansas, where God not only deepened her relationship with Christ but also allowed her to see others come to faith in Him. After graduating, she spent two years in Monterrey, Mexico, serving with Campus Outreach among college students, telling them about Jesus and His love and grace for them. Throughout her time in Monterrey, She has grown in her dependence on the Lord and has seen students take significant steps forward in their faith. As she looks to the future, her prayer is that God will continue to reveal Himself to these students and inspire them to share their faith and make disciples of all nations. She has committed to return to Mexico long term to see how God transforms lives in Monterrey and all around the world for His glory!

I grew up far away from God, and it left me living a life of great emptiness. One day I realized how shallow my life was and I hit rock bottom. At that time, while I was in college, I met a few Christian friends (among them the one who would later become my husband) and they invited me to their home Bible study group. At first I was on the defensive because I thought I had to change before I could get closer to God. However, week after week, I was able to hear the gospel and see that, with the good news of Jesus, it was the other way around. He forgives me and loves me and it is through this work that I can draw closer to God and change. As the months went by, my best friends became those with whom I shared the same faith, my relationships began to be restored, my involvement in the life of the church began to grow, but most importantly, I could finally say that my identity and joy were in Christ. Now I serve together with my husband Luis in the church, mainly in counseling for young married couples and discipleship for women. We are excited to start a new church soon, and after months of praying for it, we believe that God is calling me into full time ministry, specifically with Campus Outreach, to share the message of hope and salvation with college students.

Gloria grew up in a Christian home, but didn’t come to have a personal relationship with Jesus until her Freshman year of college at the University of Minnesota. Throughout her time in college, within Campus Outreach and at the local church, she was impacted by seeing God’s heart for a Multicultural Bride from the beginning to the end of the Bible. She is overjoyed by the reality that God is bringing a remnant of every tribe, tongue, and nation to Himself for His glory and for our good. Gloria is eager to continue serving in Monterrey, Mexico as God continues to bring many to Himself.

I am from Topeka, KS, and I came to know the Lord personally during my freshman year of college. Throughout the rest of my time in college, God grew my heart for the world. This has led me to serve in Monterrey, Mexico. I will have the opportunity to share the Gospel with students who have never heard who Jesus is and show them what it looks like to have a relationship with God. I am excited for the Lord to use me to glorify Him and make His name known among the nations!
