Edinburgh, Scotland (UK)
Campus Outreach Edinburgh was launched in 2023 and serves in partnership with St. Columba's Free Church to reach students in Edinburgh, beginning with the University of Edinburgh. They exist to build laborers in a country where 2-3% of university students have had any exposure to the church, in a city with almost 90,000 university students. The country once known as "The Land of the Book" has become a majority secular country, where less than 7% of its people attend any church. The team's prayer is to strengthen the church and to see a movement of the gospel on the campuses in Edinburgh that would impact the world for Christ.
Our Team
Ryan & Kelly Akers
Ryan and Kelly met at the University of Alabama while involved in campus ministry. It was during these years that they both grew deeply in their understanding of what it means to follow Jesus. Having been so impacted by the gospel and the vision to pour your life into others through discipleship, Ryan and Kelly joined staff with Campus Outreach in 2008. Ryan served as the Campus Director at Samford University and then as an Area Director before moving into the role of Mobilization Director. As the Mobilization Director, Ryan worked to connect university graduates with strategic needs around the world. While exploring a potential partnership in Scotland, Ryan and Kelly felt a stirring to move their family to Edinburgh to partner with St. Columba’s Free Church in reaching university students. They believe that Scotland and the whole UK are strategic places to impact university students who can impact the world for Christ.
Daniel and Jenna Andree
Daniel and Jenna Andree
Campus Staff
Daniel and Jenna met during college, a season where God used campus ministry to challenge and inspire them to give their lives to Gospel ministry. It was during this time that God revealed His heart for the nations and His calling for them to help lead others to join Him in glorifying His name on mission. After careers in accounting and nursing, Daniel and Jenna spent more than a decade investing in college-aged adults in the United States, in Southeast Asia, and in North Africa. More recently, they had the privilege of helping launch a successful church plant in Edinburgh, Scotland. During their time in Scotland, Daniel and Jenna have witnessed the significant opportunity for Kingdom impact existing on the university campuses in Edinburgh. They have felt led to join what God is doing to bring the Gospel to students from over 150 countries who are pursuing their education in Edinburgh. God is awakening this generation to believe the Gospel and the truth of who He is. Daniel and Jenna believe this moment is a strategic occasion to see new disciples built up who will make disciples for God’s glory among all the nations.
Michael & Maegan Cody
Michael and Maegan have been married since 2010 and have 4 children – Noah, Aldyn, Callan, and Ridge. They served with Campus Outreach in Alabama (2009-20) and South Africa (2021-25) before receiving a call to join the team in Edinburgh. The Codys love sharing both the Gospel and their lives to see college students meet Jesus, younger staff be healthy disciplemakers, and Christlike laborers launched out into the church and the world.
Spencer & Katie Logsdon
Spencer and Katie met during their freshman year at the University of Alabama and were actively involved with Campus Outreach as students until their graduation in 2022, when they got married. They both experienced significant spiritual growth through discipleship by Campus Outreach staff and participation in Beach Project. Following graduation, Spencer pursued a career in Technology Consulting while Katie worked in Customer Relations in Nashville. Although they initially intended to stay in Nashville for a few years, they feel led by the Lord to partner with St. Columba’s Free Church, aiming to share the beauty and truth of the gospel with college students on campuses in Edinburgh, Scotland. Spencer and Katie firmly believe Scotland is a strategically important location for impacting college students, building laborers, and reaching the world for Christ.
